Both tracks one and two on the Northeast Corridor carry 25k volts each to power the Acela and Regional trainsets for Amtrak. The electrification project was installed in this region from 1988-1989. The first Acela's were put into service on December of 2000. This photo was taken at Kingston Rhode Island. © JPM
